Even bigger mistake on the CD printing!!!
Doh! The first four tunes on our album - "Mixed Beans", "Miles to Compare", "Stripped", and "Nuff" are our remixed / reinterpreted versions of our favorite bands - and... um... We didn't get their credits on there! Luckily we only did a small run of our CDs to begin with - so we should have that fixed in the next run we do. Sorry guys! In the meantime, please note that "Mixed Beans" is actually "Bean-E Man" by DJ Logic; "Miles to Compare" is actually "Compared to What" by Up, Bustle and Out; "Stripped" is actually "Strip Club" by David Holmes; and "Nuff" is actually "Just Enough" by Toledo. The last four tunes - "The Tempo To Step Up To", "Toledo", "Tonight", and "Little Brother" are all Grandpa Mojo originals (which also coincidentally don't have credits to them as well...).

MAJOR mistake on the CD printing!!!
Well, it had to happen! I screwed up on the printing for the CDs... and not in a small way... a BIG way! - We had DJ Stretch (John Wolking) sit in with us and scratch over the Mojo tunes... and I wrote "DJ Squeeze" on the CD... Sorry John! It won't happen again! I've added their site, www.bloodyknucklez.com to my list of favorite sites. Go check them out. They have some cool video and audio.

We love MIKE!
Mike Hanse has been doing a GREAT job booking our band and getting the word out. He has submitted us to SO many online radio stations, festivals, etc. - AND! has been landing us all of our latest gigs. So, if you are wanting to book the band, contact Mike directly. You can email him at: mike@grandpamojo.com. He's also listed in our Contact area as well.

The Electric Kazoo came!
That's right friends!... The Electric Kazoo has arrived! Listen to Hendrix as you've never wanted to hear him... Coming through the end of an electrified kazoo!

Lots of Gigs in October and the CD Release Party!

CD artwork, layout, etc. has been approved and is being mass produced as we speak. There's a slim chance it'll be ready by this Tuesday's gig... but there's a better chance it will be ready for our slew of gigs in October. Check out the calendar for the dates. In the meantime, check out the tracks at www.beatport.com. This link should pop you open to a page where you can hear samples of the 4 new tunes or you can just do a search for "Grandpa Mojo".

In addition, we're adding 10 more tunes to our "remix" roster of tunes. I'll let you know more about them in the next update - but I'll let you know now that you may want to start bringing your kazoo to future shows! :-)

So, Is this a blog?

I was just thinking... If I keep adding to this... Is it considered a blog? Hmmm...

Anyway, here's all the latest:
1) WE FINISHED THE RECORDING!!!! YAY!!!! I hope to have the first batch of CDs available in a couple of weeks. I just have to get the CD duplication work done. (WHEW!)

2) THE TRI-FOLDS ARE DONE!!!! YAY!!!! Now we have something to actually hand club owners who want to book the band - instead of saying... "Well, yeah.. uh, we're real tight... yeah... real tight!"

3) THE BUSINESS CARDS ARE DONE!!!! YAY!!!! Now I can actually hand cards out to people who want to book the band.

Update to the Modern Music Institute launch: Uh... um... yeah, well, I have this job, see? - No, really... I am very close to having my first "product" - unfortunately I can't divulge what it is here... It should be available within a month.

Check out the calendar... It's been updated.

Grandpa Mojo in Future Music's April Mag!
There it is, man! - page 150 in Trev Wilkin's "World of Cakewalk" section! - There's a big tip of the hat to www.project5.com (Chris created the site for Cakewalk.) and www.grandpamojo.com.

The surprise was delightful to see as this mag is one of the coolest, high quality mags out there!* (Thanks Trev! - hope we meet up sometime!)

*If you didn't know... the United Kingdom has the market cornered on having the best music technology magazines available. I personally spend my son's college tuition and our retirement funds on subscriptions every year to stay in the "know" with these guys. (Check out "Computer Music", "Future Music", and "Sound on Sound" - top shelf stuff...)

Modern Music Institute close to being launched:

Okay... I've learned from Jesse at Cakewalk not to announce things before their arrival... But, I couldn't help myself.

www.modernmi.com is VERY close to launch.

So, what is www.modernmi.com?
1) The company is the "Modern Music Institute."
2) It's a company that provides CD-ROM and downloadable tutorials for a variety of audio software packages.
3) It's also a company that provides CD-ROM and downloadable sound libraries / patches / loops for various audio formats and programs.
4) It's Chris's dream that he could be doing this "music thing" full-time.*

(*...SO!... let's all help him, shall we?... If you believe in Chris... clap your hands... That's right... Clap your hands!... and keep clapping!.. You can keep his dreams alive with your clapping!... Keep clapping!... )

Back in the Studio (revised AGAIN):

Well, Chris WAS going to go back in to the studio with Kip to whip out some more GM studio tracks... But as it turned out, it seemed like a much better idea to do a "live" recording with the Grandpa Mojo band. - So, we'll be hooking up with a good "remote recording" guy before long to lay down our trademark live funk / trip hop / downtempo "thang" straight to two track. - Live in front of a crowd. - No overdubs, no tricks, no sleight of hand... no chance to fix mistakes... (What a concept!) The CDs will be for sale right next to the t-shirts! :-)

LOTS of gigs!
Well kiddies, there are a lot of Grandpa Mojo gigs coming up! (At least for a "senior citizen" it's a lot!) Grandpa's patron saint of gigs is John Bachman of Rhumba in Boulder - and he's loaded us up! We'll be playing every 3rd Tuesday night from 8:30 to 11:30 starting May 4th and going clear in to July. It's summer time, the doors over the bar will be open, and it'll be swarming with the beautiful people of Boulder! Check out the calendar for all the details and come join us!

NEW! Grandpa Mojo logo and merchandise!
Yeah, it was bound to happen... Grandpa got the capitalism bug... Soon you'll see him hawking "Mojo gear" at the gigs. Duck in to the bathrooms on his breaks or face the awkward "t-shirt confrontation." - There will be stickers, hats, and t-shirts sporting the new Grandpa Mojo logo coming soon!
